Program Overview

The HGG Leadership Program offers a comprehensive series of sessions designed to equip participants with essential leadership skills, covering topics such as government at all levels, economic development, nonprofits, civic engagement, political campaigns, and strategic communication. Each cohort will work on a class project that addresses a shared regional challenge in Northeast Indiana, applying insights from program sessions to develop a collaborative, actionable solution. Through expert-led workshops, panels, and dedicated project work, participants will gain hands-on experience and build networks that drive impactful change in their communities.

Program Details

  • Program runs from September to May, with a break in December
  • Recruitment/Application Period: June 1st – July 31st
  • Interviews/Selection: August
  • Meeting Frequency: Monthly sessions consisting of both half-day and full-day formats
  • Class Project: Participants will identify and collaborate on a region-wide community initiative throughout the program
  • Class Size: 11 participants, ideally with one representative from each county within the Northeast footprint
