Program Overview

The HGG Leadership Program offers a comprehensive series of sessions designed to equip participants with essential leadership skills, covering topics such as government at all levels, economic development, nonprofits, civic engagement, political campaigns, and strategic communication. Each cohort will work on a class project that addresses a shared regional challenge in Northeast Indiana, applying insights from program sessions to develop a collaborative, actionable solution. Through expert-led workshops, panels, and dedicated project work, participants will gain hands-on experience and build networks that drive impactful change in their communities.

Program Details

  • Program runs from September to May, with a break in December
  • Recruitment/Application Period: May to August
  • Interviews/Selection: August to September
  • Meeting Frequency: Monthly sessions (half-day or full-day formats)
  • Class Project: A region-wide community initiative where proposals are submitted by the community, and the class will select one to implement
  • Class Size: 11 participants, with one representative from each county within the Northeast footprint.
